The state borders of Armenia should not be
demarcated or delimitated on the basis of Google Map or Global Positioning
System (GPS).
For example, it is unclear which version of
Google Map is the basis when Google itself states that there are many versions
of online maps of the world. Moreover, have we found out what algorithmic
systems or positioning mechanisms underlie a specific version of an online map?
The studies and observations of the Human
Rights Defender of Armenia confirm that this approach seriously endangers the
constitutional rights to life, physical and mental immunity, and property of
the residents of the border settlements.
The issue is related to the protection of the
borders of our state, and the physical security and safety of our people and
every individual.
The question of the demarcation and the
delimitation requires professional approaches, the results of scientific
research, detailed on-site work, proper legal basis, etc.
This issue should be one of the priorities of
our state, and at the center of everyone’s attention.
