At
the Human Rights Defender’s instruction, a rapid response visit was made to the
Central Division of Police Yerevan City Department with regard to the
apprehension of persons protesting in front of the Ministry of Education,
Science, Culture and Sport.
Private
interviews were held with the apprehended persons, the grounds of their apprehension
as well as the state of ensuring their rights were examined.
During
the private interviews, a question was raised in connection with, according to
the detainees, the practice of imposing a fine more than one time for the same
offense of not wearing a mask.
An
official letter will be addressed to the Police based on the results of the
visit.
