In a complaint
addressed to the Human Rights Defender a citizen informed that an electrical
substation constructed near his house was installed in violation of his rights.
The
applicant provided that the operation and safety regulations of the substation were
not complied with: in particular, it does not have a roof, is not fenced or walled,
as well as hinders the traffic. In addition, it was installed in the immediate
vicinity of residential houses without considering the disagreement by the
residents of the district. The Human Right Defender’s assistance in removing
the electrical substation was requested.
Upon the
Human Rights Defender’s decision, a written discussion procedure was initiated,
official letters were sent to competent state authorities, the necessary clarifications
were requested and relevant recommendations were presented.
In a
supplemental complaint addressed to the Defender, the citizen informed that the
electrical substation was removed, meaning that the issue raised in the
complaint was resolved positively.
