A citizen repatriated
from the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia requested the Human
Rights Defender’s assistance in benefiting from support programs to get settled
in his homeland.
The
applicant informed that he had been released from serving his sentence in the
Russian Federation and was immediately deported to Armenia. The latter provided
that he did not have a place of residence in Armenia and was also unable to
find a job due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
As a result
of cooperation between the Human Rights Defender and the Migration Service of
the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Development, the citizen has
been included in the Government program of primary assistance for the
reintegration of nationals returning to the Republic of Armenia and receives
financial assistance.
