Based on the monitoring of social media
and the call received in connection with the apprehension of citizens
protesting in front of the Government against the exploitation of the Amulsar
mine, rapid response groups visited Police Departments at the instruction of
the Human Rights Defender.
The
Defender's representatives will have private interviews with the apprehended
people, including with the apprehended human rights defenders, get acquainted
with the situation on ensuring their rights, as well as grounds for apprehensions.
The Human Rights Defender, within his
mandate, continues to keep the developments around the Amulsar mine at the
center of his attention.
