The
novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has caused issues in all areas. We should not let people's
daily problems to become secondary because of the pandemic.
Today,
the Human Rights Defender visited Ararat region. It was necessary to examine
the issues related to irrigation and drinking water in a number of villages,
taking into account the complaints addressed to the Human Rights Defender from
the residents, as well as the media publications.
Before
the visit, several important issues related to irrigation water in Qaghtsrashen
and Narek villages were discussed with the Governor of Ararat region. The
issues were also discussed with the Head of the Community and the director of
the water users association. Afterwards, the Defender had a conversation with the
residents on these and other topics, who also raised issues related to drinking
water.
All
these issues will be summarized tomorrow and an official letter will be sent
from the Human Rights Defender's Office to the RA Water Committee and other
bodies.
P.S. The rules for the
prevention of the virus should be maintained during all meetings and
discussions.
