From today early morning the Office of the
Human Rights Defender worked in an overloaded regime (starting from Sunday).
At this moment I would like to clarify 3
issues:
1. Issues related to the professional work of
journalists are at the center of my attention.
We will examine in detail the videos of the
incident with the police and based on the examination, necessary steps will be
undertaken. We will work with journalists individually.
2. Today, upon my initiative, I had a
conversation with wrestler Mr. Roman Amoyan. We have initiated a separate
investigation on the issue of his apprehension.
3. At the moment, a rapid response group of my
staff is working in one of the police units.
We have already published an official statement
from the Human Rights Defender's Office regarding our work related to the
visits to 112 persons in Police Yerevan and regional units.
P.s. I once again urge everyone to maintain the
rules of prevention of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
