On May 21, President
Mr. Armen Sarkissian had a working meeting with the Human Rights Defender of
Armenia Mr. Arman Tatoyan.
The human
rights issues in the context of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) were discussed
during the meeting.
Mr. Arman
Tatoyan informed that the Office of the Human Rights Defender works in a
24-hour regime, examines and analyzes the issues raised by citizens, and undertakes
measures to address them.
President
Sarkissian highlighted the importance of cooperation between the President of
the Republic and the Human Rights Defender as two constitutional institutions,
as well as the Defender’s significant role in protecting human rights in the
country.
