The
Office of the Human Rights Defender deems it necessary to clarify that a few
days ago the Human Rights Defender had a telephone conversation with the
Prosecutor General about the case of Ms. Hranush Kharatyan, Mr. Harutyun
Marutyan and Ms. Arpenik Marutyan (the daughter of Mr. Marutyan).
The
Defender informed Ms. Kharatyan that according to the Prosecutor General the
crime report was sent to the General Department of Criminal Police to prepare
materials in a procedure prescribed by the Criminal Procedure Code.
The
Prosecutor General did not express an opinion or a position regarding the
existence or lack of corpus delicti (elements of offense). Therefore, Ms.
Kharatyan could not have been provided with such an opinion.
