Immediately after the yesterday’s
incident in Gavar, the Human Rights Defender initiated a 24-hour monitoring.
At the Human Rights Defender’s
instruction, rapid response groups were sent to Police Units, Gavar city, Gavar
Medical Center and Noratus village
In Gavar and Noratus village the
Defender’s representatives will meet persons whose relatives are currently in
the law-enforcement bodies.
Private interviews with the apprehended
persons, including the arrested have been already conducted, the state of
protection of their rights, as well as the grounds of deprivation of liberty
were examined.
The hotline of the Human Rights
Defender’s Office received a number of calls. The Defender’s office is in contact
with the law-enforcement bodies and advocates.
The necessary measures are undertaken
within the mandate of the Human Rights Defender.
