From
March 1 to April 17, the hotline calls to the Office of the Human Rights
Defender increased 4 times as compared to the same period of the previous year.
In
particular, if on April 16, 2019, the Office received 40 calls, on April 16,
2020 the number reached to 148, meanwhile, if on
March 27, 2019, the Office received 55 calls, on March 27, 2020, the number
reached to 197.
116 and
096-116-100 hotlines can receive 3 calls at a time. The 4th person
calling at the same time cannot reach the Office immediately.
Therefore,
we propose citizens to submit their applications through ombuds@ombuds.am email address or through the official Facebook page of the Human
Rights Defender. 096-116-100 number allows you to call via WhatsApp and Viber
applications as well.
To
remind, during the State of Emergency, the Human Rights Defender works in 24/7
regime. These days, the number of applications, complaints and inquiries
addressed to the Defender is significantly increased requiring rapid response,
despite the fact that not all employees are physically present in the office.
