On January 15 a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Human Rights Defender and Russian-Armenian University. The Memorandum envisages to organize and implement conferences, seminars, round table discussions, trainings, awareness-raising projects, as well as to shoot and broadcast social videos. The Memorandum will provide an opportunity for the university alumni to do an internship at the Human Rights Defender’s Office.
The Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan highlighted the importance of signing the Memorandum, noting the Defender’s annual reports will be part of the university’s courses on human rights protection.
“I value this cooperation and want to highlight that in my opinion, Russian-Armenian University plays an important role in terms of professional work, the organization of educational processes within the country”, noted Arman Tatoyan.
Armen Darbinyan, Rector of the Russian-Armenian University, indicated that developing a joint master’s program on human rights will be one of the primary directions of the Memorandum.
“The Institution of the Human Rights Defender, headed by Arman Tatoyan, is on a high level of professionality. And I am very glad that numerous alumni and specialists from our University have contributed to the formation of the Institution”, highlighted Armen Darbinyan.
The Human Rights Defender’s Office and the Russian-Armenian University will also jointly identify issues of inconsestiances of human rights legislation and its application with the international standards, including the case-law of the European Court on Human Rights, as well as will take steps for solving the raised issues.
