The Human Rights Defender met with the
President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan.
The President of the National Assembly and
the Human Rights Defender summarized the passing year. Ararat Mirzoyan noted
that during 2019 the cooperation between the two constitutional bodies have
been effective, highlighting the organization of a high-level international
conference dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Human Rights Defender’s
Institution in the National Assembly, attended by numerous guests from Armenia
and abroad.
The Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan
stressed the importance of joint work on legislative drafts with the President
of the National Assembly, the cooperation with deputies and parliamentary
committees, the exchange of information before and after the deputies’ visits
to the places of deprivation of liberty, the commitment to jointly solve the
issues within the state.
