A
call was received from an advocate via the hotline at about 00:30 on December
25 concerning the search conducted in their client’s apartment. According to
the advocate the apartment belongs to Armen Tavadyan, the owner of 5 TV Channel
TV company.
By
the Human Rights Defender’s instruction, a rapid response group was sent to the
apartment, where, as provided by the advocate, the search had been conducted
within the framework of the criminal case.
At
the moment, the Human Rights Defender’s representatives are at the detention facility
for the purpose of having a private interview with Armen Tavadyan.
The
detention conditions and the state of the protection of his rights will be examined
during the visit.
The
Human Rights Defender’s representatives are also in contact with his advocates.
A
relevant official letter with regard to the mentioned issues will be addressed
to the criminal prosecution bodies.
