The
Human Rights Defender published the compilation of the amicus briefs submitted
to the Constitutional Court by the Defender during 2018-2019.
The
practice of submitting amicus briefs to the Constitutional Court has been
introduced since 2016. The amicus briefs include the analyses of the individual
complaints’ discussions by the Defender, the monitoring results on the rights
and freedoms, as well as the international principles and standards on the
constitutionality of a concrete issue.
The
opinions pertain to the regulations of bail as an alternative restraint measure,
the certainty of the grounds for judges’ disciplinary liability and procedure
of appeals against decision, the change of essential conditions of employment
as a basis of termination of an employment contract, etc.
To
remind, the summary of the RA Human Rights Defender’s amicus briefs submitted
to the Constitutional Court during 2017-2018, containing all amicus briefs submitted to the Constitutional Court in
2017, as well as a part of briefs submitted during 2018, was published
last year.
