During 2018-2019, the
Human Rights Defender received numerous complaints against “Sanitek” company.
In particular, 18 oral
and 48 written complaints were received, another 13 complaints were received
through the Human Rights Defender’s hotline.
The issues raised in
most of the complaints pertain to the violations of employees' rights.
The following issues have
been raised as a result of the received complaints:
1. final payments were
not made upon dismissal (25 written, 6 oral complaints and 3 complaints
received through the hotline),
2. the applicants went on
annual leave, but did not receive vacation payments (12 written and 2 oral
complaints),
3. applicants, being in
temporary incapacity, have not been paid temporary incapacity allowance (9
written and 2 oral complaints),
4. the applicants
expressed dissatisfaction with regard to waste removal and installation of
waste containers, carried out by “Sanitek” company (1 written application and 1
oral complaint, 3 complaints received through the hotline),
5. applicants worked
for months but have not received salaries (3 complaints received through the
hotline),
6. the applicant had
been dismissed from work, but the employer did not provide the dismissal order
(1 complaint through the hotline)
7. the employer did not
transfer the employee's maternity allowance,
8. the employer
withheld 10.000AMD from the applicant's salary for an absence from work (1
complaint through the hotline),
9. the applicant works
in conditions detrimental to his health, however, the employer does not transfer
the applicant to another location (1 complaint through the hotline),
10. the complainant applied for
dismissal but received threats from the employer (1 complaint through the
hotline),
11. the employer forces
the employee to apply for resignatiom and leave (1 written application),
12. the applicant was
dismissed. According to the complaint, the dismissal was groundless and the
applicant raised the issue of reinstatement to the former job.
A significant part of the
complaints addressed to the Human Rights Defender against "Sanitek" company
has been resolved in cooperation with Yerevan municipality.
