Today, the Human Rights Defender
Arman Tatoyan received the Resident Representative of the United Nations
Development Programme in Armenia Dmitry Mariyasin.
During the meeting, Arman Tatoyan
presented the main directions and functions of the Human Rights Defender,
particularly, in terms of ensuring the rights of persons with disability. The
Defender informed about the establishment of the new unit for protection of
rights of persons with disabilities and highlighted its importance.
The issue of new regional units,
as well as the staff’s capacity building was also discussed.
The Human Rights Defender
emphasized the productive cooperation and the effectiveness of a number of
implemented projects with the Resident Representative of the
United Nations Development Programme in Armenia.
Dimitry Mariasin highly valued the
Defender’s work in terms of guaranteeing human rights and expressed willingness
to further expand the established cooperation.
