On February 25-26, training for representatives of the Human Rights Defender's Office took place on the issues that arise during the implementation of the law on prevention of violence in family.
“Our office regularly receives calls about violence. Prevention of violence against women should be one of the main directions of our work. Its prevention is of primary importance, because it has direct and indirect impact on both the woman and the other members of the family. Unfortunately, often children become an indirect victim of violence, which adversely affects their psychological state, endangering their healthy development,” said the Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan during the opening of the event.
During the two-day training organized within the framework of the project on “Promoting Human Rights Protection in Armenia for All” funded by the USAID, participants also discussed types of domestic violence, its impact on women, children, vulnerable groups and the society.
Particular attention was paid to the peculiarities of working with victims of violence and interviews with them. The role of the Human Rights Defender in combating domestic violence and the protection of victims of violence was also discussed.
