On
January 15, Ms. Rubina Lalayan, Advisor to the Human Rights Defender and
representatives of the International Cooperation Department and the Public
Relations Division of the Human Rights Defender’s Office participated in the
discussion of the report titled “The Human Rights Situation of Indian Labor
Migrants in Armenia”, implemented by the “Araminta” organization.
The
purpose of the research is to examine the work experiences, vulnerability and
human rights situation of citizens of the Republic of India in Armenia.
Ms.
Rubina Lalayan presented the activities carried out by the Human Rights
Defender aimed at responding to human rights issues in the workplace,
preventing discrimination and protecting the rights of foreigners.
She
noted that the protection of labor rights of foreigners in Armenia is in the
focus of the Human Rights Defender’s attention, and that various tools are
regularly used in this context.
