A
single mother of minor children applied to the Human Rights Defender,
requesting support in organizing the necessary medical care for her child free
of charge.
In
her application, it was noted that the child suffers from a serious health
problem, for which a medical institution prescribed surgery requiring special
medical technology. According to the medical certificate, the cost amounts to
approximately 3 million AMD.
The
applicant added that her family is in a socially vulnerable situation and does
not have sufficient financial resources to purchase the aforementioned
expensive technology. At the same time, it was emphasized that the surgery
should be carried out as soon as possible, as the health problem may also
hinder the proper organization of the child’s education.
Through
the cooperation of the Human Rights Defender’s Office and the Ministry of Health,
the cost of the medical technology used during the surgical intervention was
fully reimbursed within the framework of the state program, and the issue
raised by the citizen was resolved.
