Congratulatory
Message by the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia, Anahit
Manasyan, on the Occasion of International Children's Day
"Dear
children,
I
congratulate you on the occasion of International Children's Day.
This
day is a special opportunity to once again emphasize that the protection of
children's rights is a daily and continuous process that requires consistent,
purposeful, and joint efforts.
As
the Human Rights Defender, one of my priorities is the protection and promotion
of children's rights. I consider it important to make every child's voice heard
and to ensure the active participation of children in decision-making processes
that concern them, as well as in educational, cultural, and social life.
Now
more than ever, it is important to create an inclusive, supportive, and safe
environment where every child can develop with dignity, free from bullying,
discrimination, intolerance, and other negative phenomena. Comprehensive and
effective measures should be taken to form a favorable educational environment
and promote the inclusive development of all children.
I
especially emphasize the full realization of the rights of children living in
the regions and especially in border communities. The state must implement
continuous supportive actions and have a clear public policy to guarantee their
rights to education, healthcare, participation in cultural events, and rest.
Dear
adults,
I
would like to once again highlight the role of each of our exemplary behaviors
in properly organizing the care and upbringing of children. I always say that
children often do not listen to us, but they wonderfully imitate us. Through
our daily behavior, we must contribute to the formation of a respectful,
harmonious, and tolerant environment.
Dear
children,
Once
again, I warmly congratulate you on this beautiful holiday. May your childhood
world never lack sincere smiles, love, the courage to dream, and the
opportunity to live with dignity."
