On
January 21, the regular online meeting of the Public Council on the Protection
of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities under the Defender took place.
During
the session, the report to be submitted by the Human Rights Defender to the
Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (hereinafter Committee)
was discussed within the framework of the Defender’s ongoing monitoring of the
implementation of the provisions of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons
with Disabilities (CRPD).
Within
the framework of the report, the members of the Public Council on the
Protection of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities expressed their concerns
and suggestions, which were summarized, included into the report, and submitted
to the Committee.
The
Human Rights Defender highly values the involvement of the Public Council on
the Protection of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in the implementation
of monitoring, aiming to ensure adherence to the principle of "Nothing
About Us Without Us" throughout all activities.
