Dear
compatriots,
Dear
colleagues of the Human Rights Defender’s Office,
I
extend my heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of the New Year and
Christmas!
The
year 2024 has been filled with challenges but also marked by achievements. This
year has been significant for the Human Rights Defender’s institution,
highlighted by the granting of the highest A status of credibility and
independence to the Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia by the
Subcommittee on Accreditation of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights
Institutions under the United Nations. This status underscores the public
activeness of the Defender in addressing sensitive human rights issues.
Moreover, many of the recommendations previously provided by the Subcommittee
on Accreditation were implemented this year.
I
want to extend my gratitude to my staff for their dedication, perseverance,
responsibility, and high level of professionalism. I am pleased that, through
our joint efforts, it has been possible to address several human rights issues this
year and lay the groundwork for tackling unresolved challenges.
I
assure you that our efforts to protect and promote human rights will be
continuous, and the methodology of the Defender’s Office will undergo constant
improvement.
May
these holidays renew and reaffirm the awareness that the daily unwavering
mission of protecting and promoting human rights, and the fight for justice and
equality, are the cornerstones upon which democratic societal systems are
built.
I
wish that the coming year brings us new hopes and strength to build a world
where human rights are respected and protected by all. May 2025 be a year of
peace, mutual respect, solidarity, and new achievements.
May
these festive days be filled with warmth, and may the spirit of love and unity
accompany you and your families always.
