Taking into consideration the wide response of the
public, as well as the inquiries addressed to the Human Rights Defender’s
Office, we would like to inform you:
The Human Rights Defender’s Office received an
alarming-call that Mr. Grigoryan, the Head of the Haterk village was arrested,
leaving his young children alone in the car.
Based on the instructions of the Human Rights Defender
Ms. Anahit Manasyan, the details of the case were discussed with the competent
state bodies in an oral procedure, as a matter of urgency. As a result, it was
revealed that Vardan Grigoryan was released. To reveal the details of the
circumstances of the case, a written clarification will also be requested from
the National Security Service of Armenia.
