On
May 8 and 9, a meeting-discussion with children was organized in the Office of
the Human Rights Defender regarding the protection and promotion of the rights
of children receiving alternative care.
During
the meeting, the children got to know each other through games and discussions,
studied the child's rights protection system, and the existing problems in the
field of providing alternative care. Preparations have been made for
participation in the European Network of Ombudsmen for Children (ENOC) European
Network of Young Advisers (ENYA) forum.
Human
rights defender Anahit Manasyan welcomed the participants of the event,
emphasizing the need for children's participation and best interests in the
decision-making process regarding children, as well as from the viewpoint of
forming an effective system for the protection of children's rights in the
field of alternative care.
The
Ombudsman emphasizes the active participation of children in the protection of
their rights and in the decision-making processes, both at domestic and
international platforms.
The
activities carried out by the Human Rights Defender in this direction are
continuous.
