On April 22, the Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan
made a welcome speech at the event dedicated to the protection of safe internet
and personal data.

Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Araksya Svajyan, Head of the
Personal Data Protection Agency Grigor Nersisyan, Hrach Yarmaloyan, Regional Project Manager
and the National Coordinator of
"Regional Fund for Public Administration Reforms of the Eastern Partnership"
implemented by the German International Cooperation (GIZ), as well as teachers
and students from different schools were present at the event
Welcoming the attendees, Anahit Manasyan stated that the
protection of children's personal data has its own characteristics. When
publishing children's personal data, when posting them on information networks
or making personal data available to another person in any other way, the
requirements for making personal data accessible to third parties, stipulated by
international and domestic legislation, must be strictly observed.
"It is necessary to state that very little attention
is paid to the protection of personal data as well as the security in this
field and improvement of the law of the mentioned sphere. It is necessary to
take active steps in the field of personal data protection in the direction of
excluding cases of violation of children's rights, as well as public awareness
campaigns and stable and continuous training for journalists and representatives
of public authorities on the topic of preparing publications regarding the
publications on everyone especially on children and protecting personal data in
that context." stated Anahit Manasyan.
During the event, the results of the national competition
of creative works titled "What does the Internet know about me" were
summarized. "Children's pictures on the Internet: Publish without
Harm" guide and booklet presentation was also held.
