On
March 15, the Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan received Charge d'Affaires
of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Spain in Armenia Cristina Conesa Sancho.
Welcoming
the guest, Anahit Manasyan presented the directions of the Defender's activity,
highlighting the work carried out within the framework of the protection of the
rights of women, children, persons with disabilities, the fight against hate
speech, the atmosphere of intolerance, discrimination and in a number of other
areas.
During
the meeting, among other things, the Defender referred to the prevention of
domestic violence and the need to ratify the Istanbul Convention, the
importance of work on the protection and promotion of women's rights. In this
context, Anahit Manasyan stated that it is necessary to carry out serious work
in the direction of reforming the educational system, because it is through the
educational system that stereotyped approaches are often transmitted, which do
not correspond to modern trends regarding human rights.

Conesa Sancho, expressed her gratitude for the reception and effective
discussion, highlighting the activities of the Human Rights Defender's Office
in strengthening the proper system of human rights protection.
