The election took place on February 7, within the online
Extraordinary General Assembly meeting of the European Network of National
Human Rights Institutions. More than 30 ENNHRI member Human rights institutions
participated in the voting.
The representatives of the national institutions of
Denmark (Chair) and Northern Ireland were also elected for the Board positions
of the prestigious structure.
By the way, the institution of the Human Rights Defender
of Armenia is included in the governance body of the European network for the
first time.
The European Network of National Human Rights
Institutions unites more than 40 human rights institutions in European
countries. The aim of the network is to contribute to the protection and
promotion of human rights in Europe. To achieve these goals, the European
Network contributes, among other things, to the development of the capacities
of national human rights institutions.
From March 1,
2024, the Board of ENNHRI will be composed of representatives of Denmark
(Chair), Armenia, Northern Ireland, Germany, Albania, Norway.
Led by the President, the Board guides the organization's
strategic priorities and is responsible for the management and administration
of the network.
