On
February 1, based on the complaints and alerts addressed to the Human Rights
Defender, the representatives of the Defender's Office visited the
"Armavir" penitentiary, private conversations were held with the persons
deprived of their liberty.
During
the private interviews, a number of issues related to the examination of
criminal proceedings, parole from punishment and changing the type of security
zone in the institution were presented.
The
conditions of detention of persons deprived of their liberty and the state of
ensuring their rights were also examined.
Some
of the raised issues were discussed on the spot with competent representatives
of the penitentiary institution.
The
results of the visit will be summarized and appropriate letters will be sent to
the competent authorities regarding the issues raised by the persons deprived
of their liberty.
