On
November 15, the Human Rights Defender Ms. Anahit Manasyan held a meeting with
Mr. Ivo Balinov, Regional Director, Asia and Europe of the Parliamentary Center
(Canada), Mr. Hovhannes Margaryants, the local coordinator of the "
Support to the Parliament of Armenia Project, and Ms. Pina D’Intino, the expert
of the project. The goal was to summarize the activities carried out within the
framework of the " Support to the Parliament of Armenia Project"
project, as well as to outline the directions and priorities of the work to be
implemented in the near future.
The
representatives of the Human Rights Defender’s Office also participated in the
meeting, who discussed issues related to the improvement of the legislation
regulating the relations related to the provision of personal assistant
services with the expert. In her speech, Ms. Anahit Manasyan emphasized the
importance of joint activities aimed at improving the state of protection of
the rights of persons with disabilities.
"Protection
and promotion of the rights of persons with disabilities is one of our primary
directions. It is very important that we not only fix the program provisions,
but also, as a result of joint efforts, contribute to the effective
implementation of the program from the viewpoint of all the issues we are
working towards.
Our
work should be built according to this logic," stated the Defender. The
Regional Director, Asia and Europe, Mr. Ivo Balinov, in turn expressed his
gratitude to Ms. Anahit Manasyan for the reception, emphasizing the
implementation of joint programs and long-term cooperation in the field of
human rights protection.
