Today,
on November 13, the Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan received the
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland to Armenia Lucas
Rosenkrantz.
The Defender
presented to the ambassador a number of issues related to the protection of the
rights of people forcibly displaced from Nagorno Karabakh, referred to the
existing problems and needs, as well as the fact-finding activities conducted
by her and the staff of the Defender’s office, during which the deaths,
tortures, disrespect of bodies, mutilations and information about other cases
prohibited by international law were summarized in an ad hoc preliminary
report.
Anahit
Manasyan emphasized that the protection of the rights of people forcibly
displaced from Nagorno Karabakh is one of the priorities of her work.
At
present, the fact-finding activities are ongoing, the final results of which
will be summarized and presented to the national authorities and international
actors.
During
the meeting, the Defender also referred to the priorities of the activities of
the institution, in particular the importance of implementing effective
mechanisms for the prevention, detection and resolution of bullying in schools,
as well as the fight against intolerance, discrimination and hate speech.

Lucas Rosenkrantz, in turn, expressed his gratitude to the Defender for the
reception and productive discussion.
