Ambassador
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Finland to the Republic of
Armenia (residence in Stockholm) and Mr. Straight Timothy David, Honorary
Consul of the Republic of Finland.
Welcoming
the guests, the Defender presented issues related to the protection of the
rights of residents of border settlements, as well as issues caused by the
blockade of the Lachin Corridor. Ms. Anahit Manasyan referred to the priorities
of the Institution, including the protection of the rights of children, women
and persons with disabilities.
The
Defender also emphasized the determination to fight against intolerance,
discrimination and hate speech within the scope of her mandate.
In
her turn, the Ambassador, congratulating Ms. Anahit Manasyan on the occasion of
being elected as a Human Rights Defender, highly appreciated the work carried
out in the field of human rights protection in Armenia. The Ambassador
presented the projects initiated by the Republic of Finland, some of which will
be implemented in the provinces and are related to the protection of human
rights.
Within
the framework of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue close cooperation.
