On
May 17, immediately after the arrest of the parents of fallen soldiers,
representatives of the Human Rights Defender visited the Police department of
Shengavit, where they held private interviews with them.
The
Human Rights Defender’s Office hotline received numerous alerts regarding the
incident, including from Members of Parliament and lawyers.
Today,
early in the morning on May 18, the Human Rights Defender’s representatives
conducted a second visit to the detention facility of Yerevan City Police
Department, where they held a private interview with Ms. Azgush (Gayane)
Martirosyan, the mother of a fallen soldier. They assessed her health condition
and reviewed her medical documents.
It
was recorded that she has certain health problems and has refused to eat.
No
complaints were recorded regarding the treatment by the detention facility
administration and the conditions.
The
complaints concerning state bodies and high-ranking officials have already been
summarized, and official inquiries have been sent to the relevant authorities
for the necessary clarifications.
