On October 14, the human rights defender visited the Nerkin Hand community of the Syunik province which is in a more difficult security situation as a result of the Azerbaijani attack on Armenia on September 13.
The Human Rights Defender inquired about the facts of ensuring the safety of residents of the community, the use of vital infrastructures and communication routes, and violations of the property rights of residents.
The Defender stated that as a result of the aggressive and ongoing encroachment of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces on the sovereign territory of Armenia, a more difficult situation has been created for the residents of the community, especially women and children, for the realization of psychological and physical integrity, normal life support, property and education rights, and other fundamental rights.
Kristinne Grigoryan informed the residents that the results of the fact-finding mission will be presented both to the international community and that concrete proposals will be sent to the government, offering solutions to the fixed problems.
