On the second day of the visit, on July 26, representatives of the Office of the Human Rights Defender conducted monitoring visits in the villages of Nerkin Karmiraghbyur, Norashen, Movses, Aygepar, Chinari, Aygedzor, Artsvaberd and Choratan of Tavush province.
During the monitoring visits, the opportunities and issues of providing medical assistance and service to the residents of the administrative districts, the needs and conditions of the realization of the children’s right to education and a number of issues related to the socio-economic rights of the residents were studied.
For this purpose, private interviews were held with residents.
During the visits, issues related to the process of provision of disability status, the realization of the right to health, inadequate training courses for the specialists of educational institutions, and scarcity or lack of community-based services in specific cases were recorded.
Systemic issues related to the supply of potable and irrigation water, employment, and ensuring the safety of the population were recorded.
The recorded issues were also discussed with the representatives of the municipalities, educational institutions and the staff providing medical assistance and care to the administrative districts.
