On July 22, the Human Rights Defender of Armenia received Mr. Ruben Carranza, Senior Expert of the International Center for Transitional Justice (ICTJ).
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr. Ruben Carranza congratulated the Human Rights Defender upon her election and presented the purpose of his visit to Armenia.
The parties exchanged insights on the implementation of judicial and legal reforms in the Republic of Armenia, including the issues related to the formation and operation of the Fact-finding Commission, which is envisaged in the framework of the 2019-2023 Strategy on Judicial and Legal Reforms and Action Plan deriving from it.
At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation on the formats aimed at studying the cases of mass and regular human rights violations and their grounds.
