On July 21, the Human Rights Defender of Armenia Ms. Kristinne Grigoryan held an online meeting with the Commissioner of Human Rights of the Russian Federation Ms. Tatiana Moskalkova.
During the meeting, the Commissioner of Human Rights of the Russian Federation Ms. Tatiana Moskalkova presented the issues faced by Armenian families attempting to enter the Russian Federation through the Russian-Ukrainian border.
Ms. Moskalkova also mentioned the efforts and assistance provided to them by the Commissioner to solve these problems.
Thanking Ms. Moskalkova, Ms. Grigoryan presented to the Commissioner of Human Rights of the Russian Federation the current activities of the Human Rights Defender’s Office of Armenia, especially the results of the meetings held during the post-conflict period with the family members of the Armenian prisoners of war, the civilian captives, and the missing persons.
The Human Rights Defender of Armenia requested the assistance of the Commissioner of Human Rights of the Russian Federation in the issue of the return of the Armenian prisoners of war and civilian captives, as well as providing information to the family members of the missing persons.
The parties of the meeting agreed to strengthen the existing multilateral cooperation platforms existing between the institutions, as well as to develop a new format of more expanded cooperation.
Ms. Moskalkova invited Ms. Grigoryan to participate in the annual session of the Eurasian Ombudsman Alliance, which will take place in November, 2022. Ms. Kristinne Grigoryan accepted the invitation.
