On the occasion of the Republic Day of the Republic of Armenia on May 28, a solemn ceremony of awarding Certificates of Merit and Human Rights Defender’s Certificates of Honor of "Defender of the Homeland" named after the hero of the 44-day war Gevorg Arshakyan, took place in the Office of the Human Rights Defender.
On the occasion of the Republic Day of the Republic of Armenia on May 28, a solemn ceremony of awarding Certificates of Merit and Human Rights Defender’s Certificates of Honor of "Defender of the Homeland" named after the hero of the 44-day war Gevorg Arshakyan, took place in the Office of the Human Rights Defender.
The Defender welcomed the guests, congratulating them on the Republic Day. Ms. Kristinne Grigoryan pointed that each of the participants of today's event fulfills their key mission in strengthening, developing and valuing our statehood.
The Defender stressed that to overcome the current challenges facing the Armenian statehood, the unity and consistent work of all professions and all members of the society are necessary.
Ms. Kristinne Grigoryan handed the Certificates of Merit to 30 healthcare workers of "Central Clinical" and "Garrison Military" Hospitals for their patriotic and selfless service in the field of military medicine of the Republic of Armenia.
Human Rights Defender’s Certificates of Honor of "Defender of the Homeland" named after the hero of the 44-day war Gevorg Arshakyan were handed by the Defender to Mr. Mkrtich Rubeni Gayranyan, a teacher at Gavar Basic School N 4 named after A. Isahakyan in Gegharkunik province and Mr. Azat Mamikoni Apresyan, a teacher at Chambarak Basic School N1 in Gegharkunik province, for military science school education and service contribution to the armed forces.
The certificates were also handed to Mr. Vahram Arturi Ivanyan and Mr. Hayk Varuzhani Sargsyan, for exceptional courage, selflessness and excellent implementation of service duty in the defense of the Homeland, and to Arthur Sakunts, Head of Vanadzor Office of the Helsinki Citizens Assembly for his long-term and principled human rights activities in the field of civilian oversight over the armed forces.
Certificates of Merit were also awarded to the Defender's staff for conscientious fulfillment of their duties and protection of the rights of servicemen. In particular, the Certificates of Merit were awarded to Mr. Andranik Yeghoyan, Head of Division for Protection of the Rights of Servicemen and their Family Members and to Mr. Hamlet Harutyunyan, Chief Specialist of Division for Human Rights Protection in the Criminal Justice of the Department for Human Rights Protection in the Criminal Justice and Armed Forces;
