On May 23, the Human Rights Defender of Armenia had an online
meeting with the Public Defender of Georgia, Ms. Nino Lomjaria.
During the meeting, the Public Defender of Georgia, Ms. Nino
Lomjaria, congratulated Ms. Grigoryan on the occasion of her election and
reaffirmed her readiness to enhance cooperation.
The Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Ms. Kristinne Grigoryan,
presented the priorities of the Defender's institution, highlighting the
importance of taking effective measures to fight against domestic violence and
hate speech, as well as the issues regarding the protection of the rights of
persons with disabilities.
The process of the joint program of the Office of the Human
Rights Defender of Armenia and the Public Defender's Office of Georgia aimed at
capacity building in the field of socio-economic rights was discussed, as well
as new joint program directions were outlined.
Ms. Kristinne Grigoryan and Ms. Nino Lomjaria have agreed on the
upcoming meetings and mutual visits.
