Continuing her working visit to Syunik on April 13,
Defender Grigoryan met with families displaced from Artsakh in Goris.
During the meetings, the Defender was informed about
the problems of the displaced people of Artsakh, heard the concerns of the
families, on the basis of which the vital needs were collected and the future
steps were discussed on site.
The Defender assured the displaced residents that their
problems would be in the center of her attention through the regional
subdivision of the Office of Human Rights Defender in Syunik.
Afterwards, the Defender visited the Davit Bek border
community in Syunik, where she met with the Administrative Head Benjamin
Poghosyan, the Deputy Head of the community Marat Harutyunyan, the community
residents and got acquainted with the existing security and social issues.
Within the communication between the residents and teachers,
the Defender was presented with concerns related to the employment of young
people, the difficulties of the residents being engaged in agriculture, the
public transport of the village, the possible mechanisms for remuneration of
teachers and staff encouragement in the border community.
The Defender also discussed with the Head of
Community the opportunities for supporting the implementation of the program on
establishment of sewing workshop developed by the community in the context of
providing women with employment in the community.
At the end of the working visit, Kristinne Grigoryan
also visited the "Davit Bek" Youth Development Center of the community,
its opening is planned in the near future.
The Defender highlighted the importance of the
efforts to create a favorable environment and opportunities for youth
employment and personal development in the community and expressed her willingness
to assist in such an initiative.
