On April 13, the delegation, which left for Syunik on
a working visit, was hosted at the "WINNET Armenia" Women's Resource
Center of Goris. During the meeting, the representatives of the center
presented to the delegation the activities of "WINNET Armenia", the
stages of already implemented and future programs and the expected efficiency.
The Head of the center, Ms. Ruzanna Torosyan, referred to the opening of a
woodworking workshop and cooking school and the plans to open a daycare center
for the older persons.
The delegation then headed to the handicraft social
enterprise of Verishen, where it met with beneficiaries, including those of the
UNFPA's humanitarian program. The delegation got acquainted with the
enterprise's activities, handmade works and textile production.
At the Defender's initiative, the option of
presenting the @Goris Handmade brand collection of Verishen in Yerevan was also
discussed, which will ensure vast consumption and will create new opportunities
for the center.
