The Armenian National
Committee of America- Western Region (ANCA-WR) bestowed the special “Human
Rights Champion” Award to the Human Rights Defender of Armenia Mr. Arman
Tatoyan “in recognition of his consistent efforts aimed at advocating the
interests and upholding the rights of the people of Armenia and Artsakh”.
The compassionate and
patriotic work of the experts of the Office of the Human Rights Defender has
been at the basis of all the efforts.
The Human Rights Defender
of Armenia Mr. Arman Tatoyan expresses his gratitude to the Chairwoman of ANCA-WR
Ms. Nora Hovsepian for this prestigious award. ANCA-WR headed by Ms. Hovsepian,
has provided consistent assistance to the Human Rights Defender of Armenia in
documenting and analyzing the massive violations of the Azerbaijani armed
forces, and in advocating for the release and the return of the Armenian
captives held in Azerbaijan and other fundamental issues in influential American
platforms.
ANCA-WR is the largest
and most influential organization in the western part of the United States
protecting the interest and rights of American-Armenians.
ANCA-WR aims to raise the
concerns of the American-Armenian community on a wide range of issues related
to Armenians and Armenia.
The Human Rights Defender
of Armenia Mr. Arman Tatoyan also expresses his gratitude to esteemed Armenian
lawyers in the United States, the co-Chairs of the Committee for the Protection
of the Rights of Armenians Mr. Garo Ghazarian and Mr. Karnig Kerkonian.
Since the first moments
of the Azerbaijani attacks on Artsakh, the have provided constant assistance to
the Human Rights Defender of Armenia in preparing reports and in recording the
Azerbaijani war crimes. The two prominent Armenian lawyers have assisted in
raising awareness about the Azerbaijani crimes against Armenia and Artsakh, in
the investigation process in international instances, and have taken effective
measures on the most sensitive issues of the war, including the issue of the
return of the Armenian captives and the protection of the rights of the border
residents of Armenia.

ANCA-WR on awarding to the Human Rights Defender of Armenia Mr. Arman Tatoyan
the “Human Rights Champion Award, states:
“As the Ombudsman of Armenia Dr. Tatoyan has
utilized his powerful voice and all resources at his disposal to uphold human
rights and the dignity of our people by highlighting the aggressive actions of
the Azeri government in front of the international community, with the aim of
holding the perpetrator regime accountable. He is highly deserving of the
ANCA-WR’s prestigious “Human Rights Champion” Award and we look forward to
having him in California, where our community can express its collective
gratitude for all he has done and continues to do for our homeland…” noted The
Chairwoman of ANCA-WR Ms. Nora Hovsepian.
The Human Rights Defender
of Armenia Mr. Arman Tatoyan will continue to the maximum of its capacities to present
the fact-finding activities on the protection of the rights of the border
residents of Armenia, the urgent need for the creation of a security zone, as
well as the torture of the Armenian captives in Azerbaijan, and the urgent need
of their return.
