On October 28, the Human
Rights Defender of Armenia Mr. Arman Tatoyan participated in the 6th session of
the Eurasian Ombudsmen Alliance which was dedicated to the protection of the
rights of the youth.
The session was also
attended by the Heads of the national human rights institutions of Russia,
Iran, Serbia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and several other countries, as well as Heads
of state bodies of the Russian Federation.
During his speech, Mr.
Arman Tatoyan greeted the participants of the session and presented the
experience of the Office of the Defender, emphasizing that they pay a special
attention to raising awareness about the rules of secure use of the internet by
children. In particular, Arman Tatoyan presented the experience of organizing a
joint training on the secure use of the Internet for computer science teachers
by the Human Rights Defender and Kaspersky Organization.
The participants of the
meeting agreed to pay a special attention to the expansion of socio-economic
measures to support young people and to assist in the creation of commissions
for the protection of the rights of the youth adjunct to the human rights
defender’s institutions.
The representatives of
the national human rights institutions present during the session underlined
the importance of the collaboration between partner organizations in the sphere
of the protection of the rights of the youth.
