The convict applied to
the Human Rights Defender of Armenia, complaining that he had not been
subjected to a socio-medical examination for about 7 months after submitting an
application.
During the analysis of
the complaint, it was recorded that the person who had filed a complaint as a result
of improper administrative process was deprived of the privileges established
for a person with a disability.
In order to protect the
rights of the person seeking the Defender’s support, discussions were held with
representatives of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, including the
Medical and Social Expertise Agency (now the Joint Social Service), as well as
the representatives of the penitentiary institutions.
As a result of the
cooperation, the convict was examined by a special procedure, and 3rd group of
disability was granted.
The citizen informed the
Office of the Human Rights Defender that the provision of the disability
pension had also been restored.
