To celebrate
International Children's Day and World Parents’ Day today, an inclusive
environment was created at the Botanical Garden.
Despite
all the difficulties and challenges facing the state, it is necessary to ensure
a happy childhood for children. With that goal in mind, the event organized by
the Human Rights Defender was attended by students from public schools and
schools for special needs, children displaced from Artsakh, children with
disabilities, as well as participants in the "Change the World"
campaign implemented by the Office of the Human Rights Defender.
The
Defender discussed a variety of issues with the children, from the importance
of inclusive education to cybersecurity.
He
advised the children that studying well is a priority, including foreign
languages, along with being aware of both their rights and responsibilities.
For that purpose, he once again reminded the children of their right to apply
to the Defender.
During
the event, we once again became convinced that each child's ability should be
assessed in a unique way, encouraging them to lead independent lives. The state
must make every effort to ensure real opportunities for all children to succeed
on their own.
Using
sign language, children with hearing impairments conveyed important messages
that disability cannot be an obstacle to full integration into society, nor to
discovering and developing one’s own abilities in a variety of areas.
After
the sign language presentation, the actors of the "Theater of Change"
taught the children about healthy lifestyle principles through an interactive
game.
The
event was accompanied by sign language interpretation, and the hospitality for
the children was provided in collaboration with "Aregak" inclusive
bakery-cafe.
P.S.
In the Botanical Garden, we placed a box with pictures painted by children as
part of the “Change the World” campaign, where the children left their
applications to the Human Rights Defender.

you to UNICEF
