In 2020, the number of
the applications-complaints addressed to the Human Rights Defender, and the
proceedings by his personal initiative increased again, to a total of 14.780.
For comparison, in 2015 the number of
applications-complaints was 5.214, in 2016 – 5.113, in 2017 – 6.417, while in
2018 the figure almost increased twofold to 10.744. In 2019, in comparison with
2018, the number of complaints increased by 20% or by 2386, becoming 13.140 complaints.
