On February 10, the Human
Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Armenia Ivan Kuleba.
Arman Tatoyan stressed the
urgency of the return of captives held in Azerbaijan and noted that it should be
considered exclusively in the context of human rights and the humanitarian
process as an international requirement which is to be automatically applied.
The Defender noted that the
Azerbaijani authorities are artificially delaying and politicizing the process
in order to cause mental suffering, speculation and tension.
The cooperation with the Ukrainian
Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights in promoting human rights protection
was highlighted.
During the meeting, the
parties agreed to deepen the cooperation in the field of human rights
protection.
