At the instruction of the Human Rights Defender,
a rapid response group visited Investigative Department of Yerevan, met with
the citizens who were apprehended or arrested from the Republic Square on 28th
of January, 2021. The Human Rights Defender’s Office also monitored the protest.
During the visit, private interviews were held
with the persons who were apprehended or arrested, the grounds of their
apprehension, the state of ensuring their rights, and the relevant documents
prepared by the law enforcement bodies were examined.
The results of the visit will be summarized and
necessary measure will be undertaken within an initiated procedure, including
with a written procedure, based on the complaints of the apprehended or
arrested persons or their lawyers.
