The
wife of a convict requested the Human Rights Defender’s assistance in
examination her husband at Prison Hospital penitentiary institution and
restoring his disability group.
The
applicant provided that her husband was serving his sentence in a penitentiary
institution and had a number health issues. He previously had a disability of
2nd group. Due to the deterioration of his health she had applied to the
administration of the penitentiary institution for restoring her husband’s
disability group but did not receive а response.
A
written investigation procedure was initiated at the Office of the Defender. An
official letter was addressed to competent state authorities with regard to the
issues raised in the complaint.
As a
result, the citizen was transferred to Prison Hospital penitentiary
institution. At the same time, after a medical-social expertise, his disability
group was restored.
