Today, the Office of the Human Rights Defender worked
in an emergency regime.
By directly monitoring the events, the Human Rights
Defender’s Syunik regional office has been operating in Kapan from early
morning. Yerevan central office has been operating as well. During the whole
day, contact was maintained with the Police, the investigative body, as well as
with the advocates.
All the procedures carried in the Police and
investigative bodies will be at the center of the Human Rights Defender’s
attention.
The Office of the Human Rights Defender also monitors
the assembly taking place in Kapan. The Office of the Defender recorded
information providing that Police troops were transferred to Kapan.
The Human Rights Defender specifically records that all
the processes should take place and be resolved only through legal means. Each
issue should be resolved avoiding any tension, and the human rights issues of
citizens are at the center of the Defender’s primary attention.
